About The Role:

As a Family Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and families through outreach, child contact supervision, and intensive family support. You'll work both in the community and in family homes, making a tangible difference in their lives. This would include assisting with short break activities and services that support families with children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).  

Key responsibilities include:

·       Safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and families

·       Monitoring child welfare and delivering parenting support

·       Working with social workers and professionals to assess and support family needs

·       Writing high-quality case reports and maintaining accurate records

·       Engaging in both formal and informal supervision and ongoing professional development

·       Transporting children to and from family contact sessions, when necessary.

·      Employment Flexibility: Work from home, choose how many hours you want to take on, and enjoy weekend availability. Potential option of working 12h shifts (night or day) in family homes on ‘intensive’ family support cases.

·       Excellent Pay: Plus additional travel time pay and mileage. Bilingual workers can earn an extra £2 per hour for bilingual cases. As an employee of AGFS, you will be covered by our public liability insurance and receive holiday pay·

What You’ll Bring:

We’re seeking enthusiastic and flexible professionals who have experience working with children and families. Essential skills and attributes include:

·       Strong Communication Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English is a must, with excellent report writing skills.

·       Child & Family Experience: Prior experience or qualifications in social care, health, or education.

·       Passion and Dedication: A desire to support vulnerable families and create positive outcomes.

·       Flexibility: We operate 24/7, so candidates must be willing to work after school hours, weekends, and optional night shifts.

·       Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a supportive team.

·       Driving License: You’ll have a car and be able to drive.

·       All employees must have an Enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply for one.
